Tonight at the Biggest Blockbuster of the Summer, a fired-up MVP overcame the high-flying Jeff Hardy in a hard fought bout, thanks in part to the involvement of United States Champion Shelton Benjamin.
The match starts off fast with some back and forth action. Both men go for many pin falls that all fall short. Shelton slips out of the way to avoid the twist of fate. Back in the ring Shelton and Jeff tie up, Shelton showing some aggression. Jeff applies a head lock. After some time Jeff fights out but Benjamin takes him back to the mat. Shelton backs Jeff into the corner, and Fights out. Jeff hits that unique kick to Shelton who is now lowered in the corner.
The tension between Jeff Hardy and Montel Vontavious Porter has been mounting for weeks, and will finally explode at the Biggest Blockbuster of the Summer.Their dislike for one another began on "MVP’s VIP Lounge" on the July 25 episode of SmackDown, where the Ballin’ Superstar described Hardy’s risk-taking behavior as “wreckless” and a “detriment” to both his friends and family.

In the latest Superstar to Superstar, Jeff Hardy talks to Lostprophets’ vocalist Ian Watkins and guitarist Mike Lewis. The band’s single, “Rooftops,” was recently used in a video montage on SmackDown, highlighting Hardy’s high-flying moves. The Welsh rockers’ song is off their 2006 album, Liberation Transmission, available on Columbia Records.
